The programme for the day will include:

· ‘Wake the Streets’ Community Band
Across industrial North Staffordshire Wakes Weeks were traditional holidays. Factories and mines shut down and workers and their families enjoyed the fairs that came to town during their time off. Local charity NLSC are working with B-Arts and Newcastle Under Lyme Business Improvement District (BID) to re-imagine this tradition as a way of celebrating the town and providing opportunities for local people to get together and do something fun.
B-Arts are working with Seabridge Primary School and St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, the Social Agency, a Young Tenants group and many local volunteers to make the parade. Workshops are taking place at ‘WAKES HQ’ on 60 Ironmarket, with an Open Day on Sat 15 July where everyone is welcome to come and say hello.
The event is supported by Arts Council England and Newcastle BID .
